Dear Peter,
It is with deep sadness that we say farewell to you, our friend and loyal member of the Club. We will miss your laughter, your jokes—often engagingly ribald—and the many anecdotes about your days in India and in Goethals Memorial School. Both you and Rose were such wonderfully staunch supporters of all our annual events: picnics, dances and festive celebrations. We will remember your enthusiasm for sports like field hockey and boxing—as well as your generosity in never hesitating for a moment to offer a helping hand, or donating to causes such as the plight of Anglo Indians in difficult circumstances back in India. May you be united once more with your loved ones who have gone before, and may you rest with them in tranquility. |
